Octavio Café - Nossa Senhora Aparecida Farm

The former governor of São Paulo, Orestes Quércia, president of the special coffee producers Association in Alta Mogiana, will inaugurate, this semester a Torrefyer that is being built in Nossa Senhora Aparecida farm, in Pedregulho. This property concentrates 5 million trees, planted in 1,200 acres of coffee, in average 35,000 sacks a year.
The farm has international certification, such as NGO Rainforest Alliance, that has a series of requirements, from the way we treat employees to the quantity of vegetation in the area, to certify that the farm abides to all environmental rules
Specialty Coffees
The coffees and blends of Otavio Café Specialty Coffee are produced in Nossa Senhora Aparecida farm, in Pedregulho, in Alta Mogiana. A region in high altitude, with favorable weather, where the best coffees of Brazil are produced. According to the evaluation proposed by the International Coffee Organization, Octavio Café had the best rates in aspect, roasting, aroma, body, acidity, sweetness, concept and drink.
International quality and responsibility seal
Octavio Café obtained international certifications of Rainforest Alliance and Utz Kapeh, two of the most important social environmental certifications in the world. Rainforest Alliance is emitted by an organization under the same name whose headquarters is in New York and acts on the surveillance of laborers and local communities welfare. It also promotes biodiversity, forestation and reforestation of native vegetation. Ut Kapeh means good coffee in Maya. It is a world certification organization, whose headquarters is in the Netherlands, and it aims on the production and supply of “responsible” coffee. Only enterprises that ensure social and environmental quality can receive such certification.
