FRENCH PRESS
The French press is very popular in Europe and Us. It consists of a piston coffee maker that receives a mixture of hot water and coffee powder. It is quite simple: you add 6-8 g of powder into the coffee maker (a spoonful for every 200ml of water). Next you press down the piston with the filter that separates the powder from the drink. Like in an espresso, the grinding size is crucial to obtain a flavorful consistent coffee. Octavio Café uses the medium grinding size which results in a special quality coffee also in the FRENCH PRESS brewing method.
Decanted coffee with high quality
Decanted coffee is the most traditional “Brazilian Coffee”, served in most homes in Brazil. Octavio Café gathered this “day by day” taste with its special blends. The result is a heavy body coffee with multiple flavors and aromas. To have this much flavor you need a high quality blend and some special cares with the water used (it should be mineral or filtered) it should not be boiling for the oxygen loss alters coffee acidity. The powder should be precisely measured, approximately 5 to 6 spoonfuls for a liter of water. Furthermore, a very important detail: It should be drunk within, at most, 30 minutes. After that, decanted coffee loses aroma and flavor.
